Thanksgiving and More

giving

AND

We have so much to be Thankful for . Well really "I" have so much to be Thankful for. Our family had a cozy and quiet day at home. In our Pajamas. Watching the snow fall. Eating yummy food. Watching Veggie Tales "Its a Meaningful Life" and Les Miserables (with Liam Neeson- not the musical). We all have been rushing around and so busy and chaotic around here it was very nice to just stay home and relax. We needed it. I needed it. God sure has been good to us.

Snow Nov 27,2010

Pretty snow in our backyard.

Recipes this year: Stuffing recipe from Last years blog post. Pumpkin Pie recipe was off the side of the Libby's Pumpkin can, it was the BEST pumpkin pie I have ever made. Apple Pie recipe was from BetterHomes and Garden Cookbook(yes the red and white one). Green bean casserole-the one with the French's crispy onions.

Fun on Friday

Well we did some school today. Greg took Caleb in the truck today, so it was my opportunity to do some other stuff besides regular SCHOOL. We did Copywork, spelling tests, and some math.

Andy , Emily and Jon and I - all of us did the KIDS WALK exercise video today. It was funny. Then we did some laundry and cleaning bedrooms. NEw Scentsy smells throughout the house. MMM Camu Camu in the living room. Winter wonderland in the downstairs, Cinnamon Bear in the boys room.

Then we had lunch and the kids watched The Music Man while I was sewing a skirt for Emily. Then I got out a quilt I have been working on for 3 yrs - off and on. It is my Prairie Primer group quilt. Made from fabric from other Prairie Primer families all over USA and Canada, we all sent each other fabrics that reminded us of something from the Little House on the Prairie books. So I have all the 9 patch squares done, now I just need to buy the backing and put it all together. Sewing a quilt is relaxing for me, I enjoy the challenge, like working a Sukoku puzzle .....it was fun for me.
Emily and I did pedicures this week, so posted those pictures too. FUN!

Scripture

Psalm 73:25 and 26 Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth; but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever.

I am reading In Awe of Thy Word by G. A. Riplinger It is excellent.  She does a very good job of explaining WHY the King James Bible is superior to all other bibles and how it is the perfect Word of God for English speaking people.
